About SIUA

Southern Illinois Underwriter Agency was founded in July 1986. It is the combination of Schmidt – Phillipe & Associates, Inc. in Edwardsville, IL and Rogier Insurance Agency, Inc. of Highland, IL. Both agencies were founded in 1929.

SIU Agency, Inc. has three locations: Edwardsville, Highland and Greenville, Illinois. It has a sales force of four producers, including the principals.

Schmidt – Phillipe & Associates, Inc. was an agency that was created in 1972 when Bill D. Phillipe and Charles F. Schmidt formed an overhead company to operate their two retail agencies. The predecessor to Schmidt – Phillipe & Associates, Inc. was Chuck Schmidt Insurance, Inc., which was an agency established by Mr. Chuck Schmidt in 1956 when he purchased his father’s, Oscar Schmidt Agency, which had been started by Mr. Oscar Schmidt in 1929.

Rogier Insurance Agency, Inc. was the predecessor of an agency started by Adrian Rogier’s grandfather, Charles, in 1929. Adrian purchased the agency from his father, Clinton Rogier in 1979. The Rogier Insurance Agency, Inc. also operated an office in Greenville, IL and that office continues and trades with the name SIUA, Greenville.

SIU Agency, Inc. operates primarily in Mid-Western States providing commercial and personal insurance to the needs of our clients. We represent eleven companies and broker to dozens of wholesalers and general agents.

Today, we offer our clients a vast array of insurance products, including cyber liability, employment practice liability, identity theft, and pollution liability. We write everything from traditional personal and commercial accounts to sophisticated multi-state, hard to place insured’s.
